Main Functions
The Executive Director of Manufacturing has the authority to direct the activities, schedule and prioritize operations of all production areas. Establishes production goals and tracks data for trends to accomplish goals. Authority to alter standard routings where appropriate and as allowed by customer to meet schedules.
Responsible for departmental budgets, staffing and controlling costs associated with the entire production process as required to meet the business plan. Is a member of the Executive Management Team. Responsible for manufacturing of the company’s product in an efficient and timely manner with the best utilization of materials and personnel.

Typical Duties
Monitoring Manufacturing Department Performance
Maintaining staffing in balance with demand
Train, hire, and manage subordinates
Plan and direct manufacturing production activities
Required Skills
- Experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
- Experienced in process improvement techniques
- Knowledge of business, finance and management principles
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices
- Solid computer skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, project management, and presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership/management and business acumen skills.
Preferred Skills
APICS Certification
Fluent with M2M MRP/ERP system
Knowledge of military and commercial specifications and standards
Lean manufacturing /six sigma training and experience preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree in any Engineering Field or APICS Certification
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5 years in Production Management role
Physical Requirements
Most of the day is spent sitting with occasional walking/standing
