Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a Host/Producer for the program Capitol Journal & other news/public affairs programs. The Host/Producer is responsible for arranging & interviewing guests including members of the Alabama Legislature, state and local government officials and other newsmakers, and supervises the Montgomery news and production team. The position requires a strong knowledge of news and political affairs, a background in journalism for television and digital platforms including producing news/public affairs programs for broadcast, supervisory experience, a college degree in Journalism or a related field preferred, a professional on-air appearance and excellent (oral & written) communication skills. The position will host/produce programs mainly from the Montgomery State House Studio of APT; however, programs may be taped or broadcast from other locations in AL.
