Supervisory:

* This position supervises Mainframe, Open Systems, Unix, Citrix, Intel based systems, enterprise storage and systems support staff, disaster recovery planning, personnel and operations management. This position is responsible for assigning project tasks to be completed, employee performance evaluations and coaching as needed.

Communication:

* This position provides advice and assistance to MIS employees regarding the use and capabilities of all NMHS enterprise computer systems.

Budget:

* This position assists the Chief Technical Officer in preparing, submitting, implementing, and controlling deviations to the department's system budget.

Project Management:

* This position plans, manages and monitors all operating system and storage projects.

Training:

* This position provides operating system training for new personnel.

Planning:

* This position aids the Chief Technical Officer in the planning of new systems for users of all NMHS supported computer systems.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and ten years of experience in mainframe and mid-range operating systems and five years prior management experience, preferably in healthcare.
* Eight years prior experience evaluating and purchasing complex server and storage configurations.
* This position requires a strong knowledge of VMWare, Microsoft, Citrix, Unix, Mainframe and Linux operating systems.
* A deep understanding of LAN and WAN technologies and a strong background with storage area networks and enterprise storage.
* Should be well versed in enterprise disaster recovery and backup technologies and possess the ability to evaluate complex enterprise wide disaster recovery solutions and high availability (HA) solutions.
