Assists the Physical Therapist in administering the Physical Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and or psychosocial disabilities. The Physical Therapist Assistant works with the patients administering selected activities, treatments to restore, re enforce and correct pathology to promote and or maintain good health. Essential duties include Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner. Educates patient, family, caregiver in applicable treatment and prevention. Participates in the discharge planning process. Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc. Requires treatment skills necessary to provide Physical Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload. Objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. Must be physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and able to assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment.

This position will be for primarily weekends, but also with availability to pick up weekdays.

Education/Expertise:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program

(or under State of Ohio Grandfather clause).

Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. RN, RRT):

Licensed by the State of Ohio as Physical Therapist Assistant or awaiting Ohio Licensure in status of Licensure Applicant

Experience & Knowledge:

Requires the knowledge and ability to apply therapeutic principles and practices as related to Physical Therapy appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on his/her caseload.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge: 

Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have good time management and interpersonal skills.  Must be physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and able to assist in patient transfers and handle equipment.
