Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Mobile Respite Counselor in the CSP/Respite program at Behavioral Health Network!

Who are we?

The Mobile Counselor for Respite provides direct counseling and case management support to program participants. The Mobile Counselor performs enrollment and disenrollment activities, develops an IAP for treatment, and aftercare planning. The Mobile Counselor manages a variety of behavioral interventions, activities, and referrals related to recovery goals.

What are we looking for in a position?

  • Implementing an appropriate treatment/referral response using the least restrictive alternatives.
  • Identifying, assisting, supporting and communicating the needs of individuals served in the program, including use of mental status, social functioning and level of risk.
  • Interacting with significant others and area providers as needed to develop a comprehensive understanding of individuals served current situation.
  • Completing necessary documentation, in clear and timely manner, including comprehensive assessment, regular contact notes, incident reports, progress notes and goal completion.
  • Performing services necessary to meet recovery goals and provide for the short-term needs of those served.
  • Providing transportation for individuals as needed to facilitate daily community appointments related to recovery needs.
  • Assisting with financial entitlements, housing applications and the search for stable living arrangements.
  • Caseload is smaller, limited to Westfield area.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in behavioral health setting.
  • Two years of experience preferably in a behavioral health position.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery concepts and individuals in active recovery.
  • High motivation to work with a population in recovery.
  • Ability to relate and establish rapport with individuals, family and collateral providers.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Good interviewing, observation and documentation skills.
  • Ability to learn how to complete mental status exam.
  • MA driver’s license and registered, insured vehicle for job use is required.
