Job Summary:

The licensed clinical social worker will provide inpatient or outpatient therapy to children and adolescents in the Psychiatry Faculty Practice (PFP) at Upstate Medical University's Department of Psychiatry.  In addition to clinical work, the social worker will have a leadership position and help to develop and expand an outpatient/inpatient child and adolescent psychotherapy practice within the PFP. Responsibilities include providing individual and family psychotherapy, and providing supervision and leadership to social workers in the practice.  The social worker will work closely with the mental health team (child psychiatrist, child psychologist, social workers and NPs) to develop and run an effective child and adolescent service.  The social worker will attend yearly hospital-required performance evaluations and will maintain needed Continuing Education credits by attending Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds and outside conferences.

  Minimum Qualifications:

New York State LCSW-C or C eligible social worker from an accredited training program with a practice focus on children, adolescents and families. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and supervising clinical social workers preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

New York State LCSW-R social worker from an accredited training program with a practice focus on children, adolescents and families. Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and supervising clinical social workers preferred.

Work Days:

Monday thru Friday days
