Location: Rocky River/Hybrid Remote

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8AM-5PM

$2,000 sign on bonus

Summary: 

Provides mental health evaluations and treatments for patients in an assigned area, including the Emergency Department, inpatient medical units, child or adult outpatient clinics (including satellite offices), and Cuyahoga County Corrections (jail). May provide mental health services at off-campus location(s) based on the assigned area (i.e. in schools, the jail, etc.). Performs diagnostic assessments, individual psychotherapy treatment, group therapy/counseling sessions, and crisis intervention services. Contributes to preparations for mental health and substance use care programs. Collaborates with Psychiatrists and other colleagues as needed. Responsibilities:

1. Functions as a Psychiatric Social Worker or Counselor by performing one or more of the following clinical interventions as appropriate to properly care for the patients of the assigned area:
a. Diagnostic assessments.
b. Individual psychotherapy.
c. Group therapy/counseling sessions.
d. Crisis intervention services.
e. Collaborating with Providers/Residents or individually completing the patient evaluation and disposition process.
f. Contributing to preparations for mental health and substance use care programs.
g. Case management.
h. Telephone triage.

2. Develops treatment plans for patients that may include therapeutic interventions, medication, group therapy, counseling, or other mental health services; interacts with patients in accordance with the treatment plan until the mental health issue is resolved; reviews patient care plans with Providers/Residents as needed to fulfil the care plan.

3. Develops post-care follow up plans for patients; maintains contact with patient and providers to see if the follow up plan is being followed/if it is effective; modifies follow up plans as needed.

4. Meets case load management/productivity expectations as defined for the assigned area.

5. Meets all quality/accountability/documentation requirements for The MetroHealth System, the department, The Joint Commission, and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHAS); completes all documentation requirements within specified timeframes.

6. Participates in hospital and departmental required educational programs.

7. Keeps current with trends, developments, and practices in the field as they relate to this work assignment.

8. Incorporates principles of teamwork in the resolution, completion, and follow-up of responsibilities.

9. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

Required:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other Behavioral Health-related field of study from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or other similar accrediting body.
Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
2 years of post-Masters experience working with patients as a clinical Social Worker or Counselor.
Experience managing a case load of patients.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision (LISW-S) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision (LPCC-S).
Experience with Psychiatric evaluations and dispositions.
Experience with therapeutic interventions and treatment planning.
Experience working with Trauma patients.

For Cuyahoga County Corrections:
Strong preference for experience treating incarcerated populations.

Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
