Job Summary

The Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program will provide a two year training experience in accordance with the stipulations of the Houston conference on Specialty Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. The Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program will therefore provide the necessary training and preparation for the Fellows to be eligible for ABPP Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology and to practice as specialty-trained clinical neuropsychologists.

Essential Functions

• Conduct inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological evaluations which include a comprehensive clinical interview, medical records review, and a patient specific assortment of standardized psychometric tests to assess various cognitive domains (e.g., memory, attention and concentration, language and problem-solving) and psychological constructs tailored to the referral question and the individual’s needs.
• Provides timely feedback to patients and families which allows for a direct explanation of test findings and recommendations to the patient.
• Complete formal neuropsychological reports which are then provided to the referring provider. These reports summarize relevant information, all test results and provide summary findings and recommendations.
• Conducts diagnostic clinical interviews to assess for psychological difficulties which may be contributing to complex neurological symptom complaints and provide recommendations accordingly.
• Provide individual psychotherapy to patients referred by neurology whom are experiencing psychological difficulties which contribute to neurological symptoms.
• Complete all documentation and billings in a timely manner.
• Keep up with current standards of practice in the field.

Qualifications

• Required Doctorate Graduate of an APA/CPA approved doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology.
  Graduate of an APA/CPA approved internship and completed dissertation.
