South Plains Association of Governments Employment Opportunity

The South Plains Association of Governments, a local government services organization serving the 15-county region surrounding Lubbock, is seeking an interested professional with accounting and loan servicing experience to join the Regional Services/Finance Accounting team as a Financial Analyst. This position will function under the SPAG Regional Services & Economic Development Department. This position is responsible for providing support to loan programs and with the performance of office work directly related to the general business operations of the organization.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for loan portfolio servicing which includes a basic understanding of statements, collecting financial information, maintenance of existing loan files, ledger entry, lien searches, maintaining insurance assignments, as well as some credit analysis. Experience in reading and analyzing financial statements and administering economic development-related loan programs is a plus. 

Applicants should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a general understanding of financial services as this position requires the ability to work in loan origination, servicing and credit analysis. 

The minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business and/or finance, or a related field and two years of experience in lending services, finance and/or accounting. Job experience and education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. The job requires exercising independent judgment, organization skills, accessing sensitive information, research abilities, and attention to details and procedures.

The starting salary range for this position is based on experience and conformity to the job description and will include a comprehensive benefits package.
