ONC BOCES currently has the following vacancies:

School Psychologists: One (1) full-time position at Morris CSD and Edmeston CSD and one (1) part-time (.5 FTE) position at Jefferson CSD available. These are 10-month, Probationary, Teacher Unit positions providing School Psychology services to ONC BOCES component school districts.

Qualifications and Responsibilities: Current NYS School Psychologist certification required. The successful
candidates will demonstrate the ability to collaborate well with other school professionals and parents in a K-12 setting. They will be able to conduct individual evaluations of students for the purposes of making eligibility recommendations for special education programs and services. This individual should be able to conduct functional behavior assessments and consult with the school personnel, parents and other stakeholders involved. They should be able to provide counseling in both individual and group settings and prepare written reports of findings and present them at IEP meetings.

 

Special Education Training Specialist: Full-time, 10-month, grant-funded, Non-Unit, Probationary position providing assistance to component school districts through the Southeast Regional Partnership Center.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:NYS certification in Special Education with a Master’s degree or higher. Experience in Special Education process consistent with federal law, regulation and guidance, as well as State law and NYSED guidance. Candidates must indicate any professional development and/or technical assistance they have provided to others in order to be considered for the position. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Provide regional and local trainings on information on the special education process consistent with federal law, regulation and guidance, as well as State law and NYSED guidance. Overview for Principals, and the Continuum of Services.

• Deliver targeted professional development and technical assistance to groups (families, school/district staff, community groups, etc.) to support deeper learning on the topic the special education process.

 

Workforce Development/Adult Education Supervisor: Full-time, 12-month position.

Qualifications and Responsibilities: NYS School District Leader certification and experience with CTE, workforce development and/or work-based learning required. ONC BOCES is seeking an innovative, systems-minded leader to serve as our Workforce Development and Adult Education Supervisor. The successful candidate will be a certified NYS administrator (SDL) with experience developing partnerships with businesses and the community as well as experience with direct support to students around career development and placement. In addition, we are looking for someone with a vision for how BOCES can continue to develop our adult
education program to serve as a partner in the regional economic development conversation. Reporting to our Director of CTE, Adult Education, and Alternative Education, our Supervisor will be the liaison for our work-based learning experiences for our students, as well as provide support for our College and Career Zones.

 

Microcomputer Specialist: One (1) full-time position available. This is a 12-month, 7.5-hour day,
Non-Unit, competitive Civil Service position.

Qualifications and Responsibilities: (a) Graduation from a New York State registered two-year college or
university with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely 
related field;

or (b) two years of full-time paid experience in personal computer system analysis and/or adapting software for users;

or, (c) an equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: integrating new systems into the current hardware/software systems and manual/paper systems in use; train staff in use of word processing, database, spreadsheet, utility and other software; responding to user problems and questions on system and software operational problems; collect information from the department requesting computer support to determine current operation and identifying the basic requirements; defines and researches the problem in terms of conditions, logical relationships, system constraints, compatibility requirements, basic objectives related manual processes, space, impact on resources, etc.; design the system for department use by specifying hardware, software, files, screens, interactive programs, batch programs, macros, etc.; and develops appropriate tests to assure the system’s reliability; loads operating system software and batch programs.

 

Building Maintenance Supervisor - Temporary: One (1) full-time, temporary, position available at the Otsego Area Occupational Center in Milford.

Qualifications and Responsibilities: Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of
a high school equivalency diploma and; EITHER 
Three years of journey-level experience in one of the recognized skilled trades; OR Four years of experience in general building maintenance and repair
work or in one of the standard building trades such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry or electrical work.

The successful candidate will oversee and participate in maintaining the building facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety; good knowledge of building maintenance repair and cleaning
practices including basic principles and practices of operating and maintaining heating, electrical equipment, and the standard building trades. Ability to plan and supervise the work of others, ability to prepare
simple reports and records. Salary based on education and experience.
