The Blood Center is looking for Medical Technologists and MLTs for our Transfusion Services Laboratory in Slidell. Applicants must be licensed in Louisiana as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist – (CLS) Generalist or specialty in Immunohematology, Immunology or Chemistry and must possess independent working abilities and excellent communication skills.

POSITION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE |
|
Performing all transfusion service testing, including blood typing, antibody screening and identification, compatibility testing, and RHIG testing. Additional testing includes all routine quality control for reagents and instruments, ABO discrepancies, and antigen typing of donor units.
Hours: Nights (including holidays)

QUALIFICATIONS: |
Education: AS in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, MLT/CLS ASCP or equivalent education must meet CMS/CLIA qualification requirements to perform high complexity testing
CAP/CMS Testing Personnel Requirements for high complexity testing: Personnel performing high complexity testing must have at a minimum an earned associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489
Licenses: MLS(ASCP)or equivalent certification and a LA CLS license

Experience: One to three years of blood banking or general clinical laboratory experience preferred |
