The King County Road Services Division is seeking a Deputy Director who is a proven strategy and change manager, a leader who understands government policy and operations, and who is organized, people and results-oriented, customer focused, and a creative problem-solver. In this role, you will work with department and division leadership to manage the unincorporated King County roads system and support the County's vision to make King County a welcoming community where every person can thrive.
The Deputy Director will have exceptional strategic leadership and project management skills, drive efficiency and innovation, commit to building and maintaining a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture, and achieve successful results.
As a member of the division's core management team, the Deputy Director will act as an advisor and assistant to the Roads Director. This position will work with division and department leadership to help secure additional Roads funding. You will interact with staff from all levels of the organization, as well as with elected officials, agency stakeholders, and inter-jurisdictional partners. You will play a key role in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, strategic plans, work programs, and budgets as well as lead other critical projects. The the Director's absence, the Deputy Director will lead the day-to-day functioning of the division and will act as the Director.
