COME join our team! King County Fleet Services is seeking a Business & Finance Officer II (BFO II). This position will be responsible for processing daily financial transactions as well as planning and preparing monthly financial reports for the division. SCOPE OF JOB DUTIES
  • Process daily finance transactions such as journal entries, project transfers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, cash reconciliations, and employee reimbursements;
  • Research invoices or purchase order problems;
  • Prepare and submit monthly Department of Revenue reports;
  • Prepare expenditure and revenue entries for Personal Property Trust account sales reconciliations;
  • Prepare and submit vehicles and equipment purchases for capitalization in Oracle Fixed Asset system;
  • Monitor and report expenditures and revenues and perform budget maintenance activities such as forecasting;
  • Prepare burden rate recovery collections;
  • Prepare monthly fuel price per gallon monitoring and fuel billing(s);
  • Prepare monthly encumbrance reporting;
  • Generate, organize, and review financial records, data, and reports from several sources including the EBS system, to ensure accurate accounting of costs and perform monthly and quarterly reconciliation;
  • Provide technical and analytical support in finance and participate in the development of the biennial budget;
  • Maintain filing systems and complete filing in a timely manner;
  • Use process improvement principles and recommend enhancements to existing processes to improve accountability, efficiency and accuracy of financial transactions. 
  • Act as subject matter expert on matters related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Oversee the title and licensing of County vehicles with Washington Department of Licensing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO:
  • Possess a background in finance, accounts payable, account receivable, or account reconciliation OR any combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Experience using Oracle EBS financial system, BI analytic tools or similar programs.
  • Comfortable and proficient in using office productivity software. The County uses Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Pivot Tables is highly desirable.
  • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical staff.
  • Is committed to personal and organizational growth and continuous improvement efforts;
  • Is customer service oriented and can meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and maintain integrity and poise in all situations.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage a demanding workload, consistently meeting high pressure/short deadlines with minimal supervision. 
  • Is detail oriented and have proven organizational skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality or sensitive financial matters.
