JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The following position is available with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.

PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Health Careers Education
Assists with the responsibilities and duties associated with the administration of Health Careers Education programs. This position provides instructional leadership, develops instructional strategies and provides resources to improve the academic achievement and technical skills of students in career and technology education both in comprehensive high schools and technology centers.

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred or an approved degree plan for a master's degree. Valid health care credential with three years teaching or administrative experience in Career Tech or related industry. Valid teaching certificate preferred.

Ability to collaborate effectively with career and technology education instructors, counselors, and administrators. Knowledge of school laws helpful. Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office or comparable software.

Position based in Stillwater, OK. Frequent daytime travel, some overnight travel.

Duties/Essential Functions:
1. Assist in the planning and implementation of programs to meet the health career and technology education needs as requested by local education agencies, and identified by local and statewide guidelines.
2. Provide technical support, consultation and individualized assistance to health careers instructors, coordinators and administrators.
3. Participate in both internal and external committees and advisory boards and contribute to the development of policies and program initiatives related to statewide instructional framework.
4. Encourage innovative approaches for instruction and delivery.
5. Plan and implement high impact professional development training and technical assistance for teachers and staff based on priorities and needs.
6. Assist in providing guidance and leadership to the student organizations and assist with student conference activities.
7. Participate in career and technology education program and district accreditation.
8. Assist in coordinating the dissemination and retrieval of statistical and descriptive information pertaining to career and technology education programs.
9. Assist in directing divisional activities to complement the goals and initiatives of the Department, including implementation of processes to increase effectiveness.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Salary/Benefits: $51,985.95 - $58,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $64,192.17 - $71,111.95.
