EBSCO Information Services is entering its third decade as a leading provider of reference databases for researchers around the world. This is an exciting time for EBSCO. EBSCO’s Field Sales group is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast Region, specifically – New York, New Jersey, and Eastern Canada (ON, QC, PEI, NF, NS, NB).

This position handles all our product lines and categories including:
Point of Care/ Clinical Decision Support, Full Text Medical Databases on EBSCOhost ™, and Software as a Service Solutions – supporting researchers, students, physicians, residents, nurses, allied health professions, patients, and more. The Medical Regional Sales Manager will sell EBSCO Information Services products to hospitals, healthcare systems, hospitals, physician groups, and medical associations.

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide balanced sales coverage of accounts in your territory and grow business in both existing and new accounts
  • Work in conjunction with the Vice President of Sales and Inside Account Executive
  • Achieve an established new sales growth and renewal quota each fiscal year for EBSCO Information Services products
  • Have quotes prepared, literature sent, and coordinate with the Account Executive to set up trials when appropriate
  • Achieve an expert level of knowledge of EBSCO Information Services’ products and competition
  • Provide input from the market for product development and marketing purposes
  • Develop sales strategy for your region for overall sales of EBSCO products
  • Travel: (60%); including attendance of conferences and sales meetings as deemed necessary by Sales Management
  • Average 25 face-to-face visits including cold call visits per month with prospects and/or customers
  • Schedule an office day each Friday

 

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of sales experience - previous experience selling into the medical field is preferred.
  • Currently the position is transitioning out from being virtual (in office/ limited travel) due to COVID, but eventually the ability to travel 60%.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must live within the territory or within proximity: preference for New York or New Jersey
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong understanding of computers and research
  • Travel experience in current position preferred, demonstrated by ability to prioritize and territory management.
  • Cold calling experience
  • Must have proven communication, follow-up, and sales skills
  • Must demonstrate strong initiative
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and WEBEX/ Teams/ Zoom technology

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-lingual (English and French)
