The Richmond Times-Dispatch and Richmond.com is looking for a results-driven, dynamic Advertising Account Executive with strong communication and teamwork skills responsible for selling cross-platform advertising solutions to local and regional decision makers. The primary responsibility for this position is to increase advertising market share by growing existing retail advertising client base, and developing new business within our Richmond, Virginia market.

Essential Job Functions, Responsibilities & Competencies:
Responsible for meeting and exceeding weekly, monthly and
quarterly print and digital sales goals with focus on solution-based,
consultative selling
Set meetings with key decision makers and develop advertising
programs that solve client challenges
Engage in all stages of the sales cycle, from cold-calling
to prospecting to developing customer rapport to closing business and
servicing accounts
Work through objections/concerns regarding costs;
determine budgets, and employ relevant selling strategies
Prepare and deliver sales presentations with new and existing
customers ensuring realistic client deliverables and customer satisfaction to
continually grow client base
Maintain price and product integrity to ensure maximum company
profitability
Must have ability to research problems and provide solutions
independently and in teams
Have a good understanding of the retail industry and the market
as it relates to customers, prospects, and key trends
Complete appropriate sales activity reports and forecasts as
required
Strong understanding of digital media platforms
Ability to effectively manage time as it relates to focus on
sales related activities
Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization; Social Network
Marketing; Mobile Marketing; Emerging Digital Media; Online Advertising:
Display, Rich Media, and Video; Location Based Technologies; and Interactive
Television a plus.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university;
or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience preferred
A minimum of 2-4 years experience in local broadcast, cable,
on-line or print media sales with a minimum of two years experience in digital
media preferred
Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational and
organizational skills required and ability to work independently and in a team
environment
Must be computer proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge and/or experience of Sales CRM and/or advertising
sales software
