Academy of the Holy is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team and manage the financial aspects of the school, including investments and audit activities. The CFO is responsible for financial oversight and reporting, budgeting, tuition setting, financial aid administration, regulatory compliance, and human resources oversight. As a member of the senior management team, she or he will be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and presentation skills.

Summary Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial matters, including
financial oversight and reporting, budgeting, tuition setting, financial aid administration,
technology oversight, school safety planning and training, facilities management,
regulatory compliance, human resources oversight, and food and transportation
services.
Essential Functions:
A. Financial Oversight
• Supervises bookkeeping operation of the Business Office
• Develops and monitors annual operating and capital budgets
• Oversees an operating budget of $4 million.
• Recommends tuition and fee schedules
• Supervises and prepares reports on a timely basis for all funds
• Supervises the preparation of financial data to provide audit trails and
supporting material for the preparation of professional audits
• Communicates with parents, especially with respect to individual account
problems
• In collaboration with the Finance Committee of the Board invests available funds
and manages them to maximize income
• Works closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement to reconcile
fundraising accounts
B. Personnel Administration
• Confers with administrative staff to determine personnel needs
• Performs personnel management duties as assigned
• Supervises Business Office personnel
• Develops and maintains compensation package for all employees, subject to
policies developed by the Board of Trustees and under supervision of the Head
of School
C. Financial Aid Administration
• Works closely with the Admissions Director to oversee the financial aid
application process and assist families as needed
• Works closely with the Enrollment Manager to review financial aid applications
and recommend awards to the Head of School
• Manages financial aid and scholarship awards and tracks awards as compared to
budget goals
• Follows up with outstanding financial aid applications and contracts
• Ensures all awards are entered on enrollment contracts.
D. Plant, Facilities, and Equipment Management
• Supervises and confers with Supervisor of Building and Grounds, on all aspects of
facilities management, personnel, contract services, maintenance, construction,
fire safety codes
E. School Safety Planning and Training
• Updates the school safety plan on an annual basis
• Ensures annual training is completed
• Ensures that all required safety drills are completed
• Tracks all faculty and staff’s CPR Certifications
• Ensures all safety inspections are completed
• Responds to all safety concerns and determines the appropriate response in
consultation with administration
F. Information Technology Management
• Supervises information technology personnel
• Manages the Help Desk Ticket system
• Identifies funding for IT equipment and direct purchases in accordance with the
Technology Plan
• Supervises the distribution, collection and tracking of all IT devices
• Identifies future funding needs to keep equipment up to date.
G. Regulatory Compliance
• Keeps current with state and federal regulations, including EEOC regulations,
aspects of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and wage and hour
laws
• Develops and maintains contacts with federal, state, and local offices (and
knowledgeable professions outside) to remain abreast of laws affecting the
school
H. Responsibilities to the Board of Trustees
• Provides reports to Board of Trustees, as needed
• Serves as liaison to the Finance and Facilities committees of the Board of
Trustees, and other committees as needed
I. Food and Transportation Services Management
• Oversees the recruitment of catering companies and is responsible for the efficient
functioning of the school’s food services
• Oversees the engagement of group transportation services for students whose school
districts do not provide such services and, in collaboration with the Division Head,
assures their smooth functioning

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timesensitive manner
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; advanced degree
preferred
• Demonstrated success in supervising business office personnel and operations
• Minimum five-years’ experience in management at a non-profit institution
preferred
• Knowledge of, experience with, and expertise in the use of a variety of business
applications
