Summary: 

Summary:
Coordinates resources for project execution by participating in defining project scope and objectives, creating, and maintaining project documentation, incorporating management requirements. Coordinates the implementation of performance improvement strategies. Organizes and tracks workflow, committee decisions, and related expenditures. Reports on project status, outcomes, costs, changes, and modifications. Writes confidential reports and prepares executive summaries. Conducts research for and participates in an array of system-wide projects and operational initiatives, attends various leadership meetings, and follows up on status of strategic organizational initiatives. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
1. Provides research, analysis, and project management by:
a. Completing complex projects supporting the work of an assigned senior leader.
b. Participating in organization-wide projects that require additional support in initial research, planning, and feasibility analysis support.
c. Producing reports; collecting and assimilating data; monitoring project performance.
d. Preparing policy briefings, talking points, presentations, and proposals for internal and external meetings.
e. Recommending policy changes and enhancements that are contemporary and reflective of best practices. Ensuring system-wide applicability, implementation, and dissemination.

2. Oversees, promotes, and participates in the implementation of performance improvement (PI) strategies by:
a. Coordinating the implementation of PI activities related to all quality metrics.
b. Directing decision making using proven PI/QI methodologies and tools.
c. Assessing existing processes and identifying performance improvement opportunities.
d. Monitoring quality data to identify gaps in care/clinical practice and collaborating with the clinical and leadership teams to improve barriers.
e. Working to integrate quality measures into overall hospital quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
f. Participating in the development and implementation of indicators that measure the process and outcomes of care.
g. Compiling initiating, and maintaining PDSAs (Plan, Do Study, Act cycle) for all process improvement projects initiated.
h. Developing, presenting, and coordinating related continuing education programs/presentations to colleagues, clinical and professional departments, and the MHS various committees.
i. Assigning team and departments in setting quality performance measurements and tools as it related to data monitoring, analysis, reporting, and presentation.

3. Conducts comprehensive research and analysis, identifying options, preparing, and presenting reports for management review and making recommendations and eliciting strong support for potential actions and/or changes. Investigates and analyzes best methods and practices relative to achievement of hospital-wide or intra/interdepartmental operating goals and objectives.

4. Coordinates resources for project execution by:
a. Participating in defining project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders.
b. Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, incorporating management requirements, and transforming into project timeline.
c. Organizing and tracking workflow, schedules, and committee decisions. Maintaining required records and files; compiling required statistics. Gathering and organizing requested information and data.
d. Following up on decisions made and status; ensuring projects are delivered timely and within stated scope.
e. Ensuring compliance with hospital regulations, policies and guidelines and federal, state, and local laws.
f. Reporting back on status, anticipated outcomes and/or costs, and potential changes/modifications.

5. Attends meetings and participates on committees, including, but not limited to leadership planning meetings. Presents proposals, findings, and best practice methodologies.

6. Proactively participates with internal and external stakeholders to conduct early analysis of potential initiatives, policy matters, and projects. Provide strategic recommendations to addressing problems or opportunities.

7. Incorporates principles of teamwork and collaboration with all organizational levels in the resolution, completion, and follow-up of various responsibilities.

8. Enhances professional growth and development keeping current with related legislative developments, trends, and practices; participates in continuing education courses, professional organizations, and seminars; reading current literature and maintaining professional contacts within the community.

9. Displays sensitivity to and understanding of various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Progressive experience relative to the duties of this assignment.
Displays the ability to be collaborative and a quick study.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).
Possesses a high degree of analytic ability, ability to manage multiple priorities, and the ability to pivot from one assignment to the next with ease.
Driven by personal values that are consistent with the System’s values with a focus on the best interests of the System.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Master's degree (i.e., MBA, MHA, MHSA, MPA).
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Five years quality improvement experience.
Formal process improvement training.
Prior healthcare industry experience.
Knowledge of EPIC functionality.
Possesses broad knowledge of current and historical perspectives on healthcare business management and administration, clinical practice management, clinical research and education, hospital administration and management, finance, human resources and organizational development, information systems, and managed care.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
