Job Summary: Work schedule based on 40 hour work week, Must be able to work 3:00 PM-11:30 PM, rotating weekends and holidays. Duties include, but are not limited to: equipment decontamination, setup, and operational verification for equipment to be issued; collection, processing, delivery of equipment to patient areas accurately and promptly; performs minor repairs to equipment and refers major repairs to Clinical Engineering; answers the telephones and greets visitors/customers; trains and orients new staff as assigned; performs data entry and looks up information via the computer system. Issue supplies utilizing various methodologies including par level filing, call-down requests, filling of faxed or hand-delivered requisitions sheets. Critical station and kit supply assembly, verification, and delivery. Assists in the maintenance of stock room; Unpacks supplies and stock shelves; keeps distribution area clean and free of boxes. Must demonstrate the ability to lift and move heavy boxes and carts using proper body mechanics and manual dexterity; follow written instructions from cards and manuals; effective communication skills; ability to move swiftly in emergencies; use of all five senses (with adequate correction). Must be able to lift 30 pounds to shoulder height. Must be able to sustain long periods of standing & walking.
Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of a nationally accredited central service technician exam AND current certification administered by a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization as a registered central service technician, sterile processing and distribution technician, or possession of a substantially equivalent credential. 

OR 

Evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in a Healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2015. 

OR

Examination and certification as described above within eighteen months of hire.
