Job Summary

Oversees the ongoing review of new prices, price adjustment requests and maintenance of all existing charge-related prices for BHSH. Supports the formulation of pricing strategies and ensure adherence to established pricing methodology that complies with regulatory or legal requirements and considerations. Supports clinical departments through pricing strategy determinations. Also collaborates closely with other financial and administrative areas impacted by pricing, including reimbursement, cost reporting, cost accounting, IS, budgeting, managed care contracting, and other areas as appropriate.

Essential Functions

  • Assumes day-to-day accountability for the delivery of quality monitoring and change approvals made to Spectrum BHSH 's pricing through consistent application of policies, procedures, protocols and standards of care, and through support for an educational plan to meet the needs of staff and assure competence. Identifies policies / procedures needed for site / service and participates in writing, reviewing and revising site / service policies / procedures.
  • Ensures that prices are set appropriately to maintain compliance with the BHSH consent decree.
  • Supports development of strategy for annual pricing changes across BHSH divisions to include net impact modeling of proposed price changes and associated research and due diligence.
  • Will be responsible for reviewing special pricing requests to ensure that anything that deviates from standard charging is set-up in a manner that is compliant with BHSH guidelines and policies.
  • Participates as an active member on hospital / health system / community committees related to pricing.
  • Manages the activities of any pricing staff. Provides direction and support to subordinate staff to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Selects, trains, develops, and evaluates subordinates and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or other related field - Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience financial management, information systems, or health information management - Required
  • 1 year of relevant experience in management - Required
  • Experience with Epic, Cerner or Medipac - Preferred
  • Experience with strategic pricing, reimbursement and analytics - Strongly Preferred
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - 180 Days required
  • CRT-Healthcare Financial Professional, Certified (CHFP) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
  • CRT-Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
  • CRT-Revenue Cycle Representative, Certified (CRCR) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
  • CRT-Inpatient Coding Auditor, Certified (CICA) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
  • CRT-Specialist Accounting & Finance, Certified (CSAF) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
  • CRT-Specialist Business Intelligence, Certified (CSBI) - HFMA Healthcare Financial Management Association 180 Days preferred Or
