The Psychiatric Technician reports to the department manager and provides routine direct services and care to clients of the crisis departments. They serve as an advocate and role model for all crisis service clients; supervises activities and upholds client rights including confidentiality. Documents observations and results of all interventions. The individual works in collaboration with departmental staff and other department area staff to provide a full array of Behavioral Health support.

High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year working with individuals with chronic mental illness. Ability to work cooperatively with the multi-disciplinary team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to verbally and physically de-escalate a client utilizing BMC trained programs. Ability to complete electronic charting and documentation. Ability to work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to consistently meet departmental work schedule as designated. Ability to effectively speak, read, and write English. Ability to successfully complete and pass CPR and BMC designated behavior management training during the orientation period and maintains all certifications throughout employment.
