Class Description

The Aviation Flight Trainer is responsible for providing ground and simulator training in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations parts 61 and 141, Air Traffic Control Procedures AO 7110.65, and CCBC Flight Training Procedures.  

Minimum Requirements

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Flight Instructor requirements: 
FAA Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI).
 CFI-Instrument (CFII) preferred, CFI-Multi-Engine desirable.
FAA Third Class Medical Certificate or higher required.                            
 
Education requirements:
Associate’s Degree preferred; experience as a US military or Airline Flight Instructor preferred.    

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Coordinates with the Aviation Program Director for student flight training requirements. 
  2. Schedules students and tracks student progress.
  3. Ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all assigned students as stipulated in the applicable Training Course Outline.
  4. Works to ensure timely student completion of the license being sought. 
  5. Maintains student records and keeps student logbooks current.
  6. Ensures that applicable FAA regulations and CCBC policies are followed.
  7. Promotes an environment of professionalism and a positive safety culture.
  8. Monitor the maintenance condition of simulators and inform the Aviation Program Coordinator of any questionable issues. 
  9. Recommend curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum or courseware as assigned.

    The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).
  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:  TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc.  Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature.  Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
Parking
Free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
