The Human Services Specialist I/QMHA
This is a regular part-time position (32 hours/week) for a Human Services Specialist I/QMHA (Qualified Mental Health Associate) to provide integrated mental health and substance abuse services in a voluntary crisis program setting. This position is designed to provide staffing 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary teams to assist individuals in accessing resources, addressing barriers related to their mental health, and developing skills that promote recovery and advocacy. Responsibilities include: providing support to individuals, assisting in utilizing recovery skills, providing assistance connecting clients with local peer organizations, identifying strengths to achieve individual goals, and providing individual and group peer services. The Benefits—(premiums will be pro-rated for part-time)
Health coverage - Group medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage is available for the entire family. For the 2021- 2022 plan year, the County will pay 98% of the monthly premium and employees will pay 2% ($35.78 per month) for the Base Plan. With this plan, employees are eligible for a $100 a month contribution into an HRA VEBA account. Buy-up plans are also available.

Retirement - PERS (Public Employee Retirement System) contribution is 100% employer funded, which includes both contribution to PERS pension and IAP accounts (IAP contribution is 6% of salary).

Short-Term Disability – 100% County paid.

Life insurance - $10,000 for employee/$2,000 for spouse and children – 100% County Paid.

Vacation/Sick Leave - Flexible Earned Time (FET) is a combination of vacation and sick leave. To start, employees earn 13 hours per month and future accruals increase based on years of service. After a year of service and depending on FET balance, employees may sell-back up to 40 hours of FET per year.

 

The Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in human services related field and at least one year of relevant work experience
required. Appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. Must
meet eligibility to become credentialed as a QMHA through the Mental Health and Addiction
Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). A license to drive in the state of Oregon is required in addition to an
acceptable driving record. Must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment and must meet
QMHA/QADAC requirements per State Medicaid rule.
