To contain COVID-19 and fully re-open the region, Public Health - Seattle & King County is helping to achieve the goal by vaccinating all eligible residents against this virus. In addition to vaccination, we are also committed to ensure equitable access to FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 treatments, such as oral antiviral medications.
There is an urgent need to create capacity in providing COVID-19 therapeutics treatments across King County Public Health Centers especially at Isolation and Quarantine Sites.
We are looking to fill ONE clinical pharmacist position to work in the Community Health Services Division, in operation of our Covid-19 Therapeutics Program. The work performed in this position is anticipated to last through at least 8/31/2022. However, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on funding and program need.
Covid-19 Therapeutics (oral antivirals) are proven to be effective treatments against mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults with positive results of direct SARS-CoV-2 and who are at high-risk for progression to severe COVID. Here at King County, we are committed to ensure our communities and those disproportionately affected by COVID-19 have equitable access to FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 treatments. With the launch of the COVID-19 Therapeutics Program, we will be needing support from clinical pharmacist for day-to-day operation working under CDTA in this particular area. This program is designed mainly to care for those who are particularly underserved and disproportionately affected (e.g., serve a significant number of people experiencing homelessness) during this pandemic. The program will impact largely for the clients staying at the isolation and quarantine sites.
