Supervision Received: General & task supervision from Field Education Director.  
Supervision Exercised: None 
Salary: $26,000.00 a year 
General Statement of Duties:
The IBHE Field Coordinator will be responsible for developing new field sites and maintaining existing community partner sites in Western and Central Massachusetts within integrated behavioral health/primary care settings focusing on children, youth, and family; health social work, addictions, and Latinx Community Health; aid in the application process and placement of students at field sites; assist in ensuring that seminar instructors/field liaisons and field supervisors are prepared and supported for their work with students and each other in these sites; provide IBH consultations to field supervisors; serve as a consultant to faculty field liaisons and field instructors regarding potential disruptions of assigned field sites and, as necessary, act as mediator when problems arise in the field that require intervention beyond the field instructor, field liaison, and student; help to maintain information in the department's web-based field documentation system; attend meetings of the Field Advisory Board, the MSW Department Committee, the Community Health Equity Advisory Board, and other committees as necessary. Participate and assist in all Field and HRSA Project related events as requested, including Field Instructor Orientation, annual conference, and grand rounds events.  This is a half-time, twelve-month position with benefits. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
Essential:

  • Work with the Field Education Director  & IBH Specialization Coordinator in developing and maintaining field sites in rural, underserved, and Spanish speaking IBH/IPC settings.  Conduct independent site visits for potential new field sites and utilize independent judgment and discretion to evaluate the appropriateness of an Affiliation Agreement with a particular field site, as well as particular field instructors, while ensuring CSWE standards are met.
  • Responsible for field placement application process for assigned students..
  • Participate in field education student orientations as assigned, especially for HRSA grant recipients.
  • Participate in the annual field instructor orientation training, co-facilitate as requested.
  • Maintain the information contained in the department's web-based field documentation system and aid students, field instructors, and faculty as needed.
  • Monitor assigned field placements, communicate with Field Education Director regarding any potential disruptions. Serve as a consultant to faculty field liaisons and field instructors regarding potential disruptions of assigned field sites and, as necessary, act as mediator when problems arise in the field that require intervention beyond the field instructor, faculty field liaison, and student.
  • Assist IBH Equity Project Director with data collection as necessary.
  • Assist Health Equity Coordinator to provide consultation to agencies, higher-level administrators, supervisors, students and faculty regarding SDOH in IBH/IPC setting.
  • Serve as a member of the Department Committee, Field Advisory Board,  Community Health Equity Advisory Board and MSW Committee.
  • Participate and assist in all Field and HRSA Project related events as requested, including Field Instructor Orientation, annual conference, and grand rounds events. 


Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters in Social  Work.
  • Licensed with 2 years post-degree experience.
  • Previous experience related to social work education is strongly encouraged (i.e. supervision of students, and adjunct teaching).
  • Strong interpersonal, independent judgment, organizational, and computer skills, as well as the capacity to work in a fast-paced team-based environment.

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience with coordination of field placements.
  • Knowledge of area social services organizations.
  • Experience within integrated behavioral health care or primary care settings.


Additional Information:

Salary:
For the majority of new employees, the minimum starting salary will apply. Specific salary for current Westfield State University employees and individuals currently working for the state of Massachusetts must be calculated individually in accordance with collective bargaining and state policies and procedures.
