Health and Human Services Commission/Disability Determination Services (HHSC-DDS) in Austin, TX; Posting # 411720 Claims Examiner II [Disability Specialist (DS) I] Entry-level position beginning at $3,191.30/monthly (* return to work retirees must follow relevant state and agency starting salary schedules) This is a career ladder position. Upon successful completion of the job requirements for a DS I, the employee is eligible for promotion to a DS II, and may progress to a DS III. The DS researches, develops and analyzes medical, vocational and technical information in order to render disability determination decisions for the Social Security Administration.
