| Job Summary: | The Graduate Assistant will support statistical projects in the Department of Public Health & Preventive Medicine, as assigned, including data management, cleaning, and analysis; and other activities to benefit research and educational programs based on candidate qualifications. They will also assist in the instruction of MPH 602, Principles of Biostatistics, particularly in responding to student SPSS questions via email or virtual meetings and possibly coordinating drop-in or extra help sessions for one hour per week. Students must have experience with data management and preparation; proficiency with syntax of at least one statistical software package (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R); ability to run basic through intermediate statistical procedures, including basic descriptive statistics, t-tests, and chi-squared analyses. Ability to run ANOVA, linear and logistic regression procedures with support from faculty is also preferred. Total weekly commitment is expected to not exceed 20 hours. |

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree and acceptance into matriculated graduate status at a SUNY campus required. Must be a current student enrolled in a graduate program at Upstate Medical University. Students must have completed MPH 602, Principles of Biostatistics, and received a passing grade of A or A- and must be recommended by the MPH 602 instructor. |
