The State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch, Office of the Probate Court Administrator is seeking a Staff Assistant - Probate for a full-time position in a dynamic work environment to perform a full range of tasks in support of the Law Department, including research, writing and review, and a variety of assignments related to communications, information technology and financial services.

The preferred candidate will possess experience with probate functions in the legal field, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. The selected candidate will assist with development, revision, and update of Probate Clerk’s Manual; revise, edit, update, and supervise the publication of various manuals, booklets, and other written materials; develop, update and edit content for the Probate Court website including update and maintenance of fillable forms; work with the Probate Court Assembly Procedures Review Committee with respect to creation, review and revision of Probate Court forms, booklets, manuals and procedures related to legislative and procedural requirements; work directly and collaboratively with the Information Technology, Financial Services and Communications Departments of Probate Court Administration.

 

Salary Range: $72,199 - $98,298/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum.  The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

General Experience:  A Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of experience in the Probate Court system providing complex paraprofessional legal assistance.
