The King County Council is looking for an experienced and motivated veteran or active-duty service member of the National Guard or any reserve component of the U.S. military, with a passion for community engagement to reinforce the Council's work on eliminating racial inequities in systems, structures, policies, and practices. The Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) Administrator will organize projects related to the implementation of the Council's ESJ Strategic Plan and provide professional learning opportunities on topics related to equity and social justice, including but not limited to race, socioeconomic status, gender identity and expression, education, age, ability, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, language, nationality, and religion.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of carrying out equity, diversity, EEO and social justice efforts and is experienced with cultivating and strengthening internal, local, and regional partnerships and participate in thoughtful engagement with our community stakeholders.

TEMPORARY TELECOMMUTING REQUIREMENT
The work associated with this position may be performed remotely. It is possible that the work will be primarily performed remotely on an ongoing basis. Employees will receive a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
As of December 2, 2021, most Legislative Branch employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If hired, you will be required to submit proof of vaccination. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine.
