POSITION TITLE: Psychologist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing direct and indirect mental health treatment services to clients and their families. Provides training, supervision and educational programs to interns and other Mental Health staff, as delegated.

• conducting psychological testing assessments as needed to assist in plan of care for patients

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

Ph.D. in Psychology or Psy.D. plus licensure as a psychologist in New York State. One-year clinical experience in a mental health facility with patients and their families.

Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Clinical setting – Exposure Class I – routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions or secretions. Possibility of sustaining an injury from a patient.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Medium work – must be able to bend, stoop, walk, push and pull

WORK CONTACT GROUP:

All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies

Manager and Associate

Psychology trainees, other staff as delegated
