Lakeside 50 is a 20 bed Medical-Surgical unit that provides care for medically complex diagnoses.

We provide disease management for heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, GI, Chest pain, hypertension, asthma, renal and many other medical conditions.

Our nurses are educated to interpret and monitor cardiac rhythms (telemetry) which aid in the plan of care. You will be amazed at the learning opportunities to learn and grow as a new graduate RN!

Position Summary/Essential Duties:

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.  Essential duties include:

  1. Routinely provide patient care.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
  3. Maintains employee records.
  4. Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development.
  5. Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals and education.
  6. Committee involvement, participate with quality improvement initiatives.
  7. Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost effective manner.
  8. Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  9. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
  10. Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Meets qualification of  1-2 years clinical experience
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic.

Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients/customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high pressure situations with professionalism and integrity.
  • Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies
  • PC and computer applications

Education:

  • Associate in Science Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master in Nursing (MN) from accredited program required within 2 years of hire date.

Required Credentials, License, and/or Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio. 
  • Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership is required within 2 years of hire date
  • BLS Required and ALS & PALS may be required based on area’s requirements
