When you are discharged from services, GPCS retains your record for:
After the retention period, your records are destroyed in a manner consistent with HIPAA and state guidelines. Record destruction will occur on October 25, 2023. You may exercise your right to request access to your record or transfer copies of your record to another provider at any time before destruction.
The Rural Overdose & Outreach Team (ROOT) Project is a collaborative effort between Goochland Powhatan Community Services and Emergency Services Solutions. We envision reducing and eventually eradicating the number of substance use disorder-related emergencies and overdoses, and ensuring recovery support is available to all residents of Powhatan County who are impacted by the disease of addiction. By meeting individuals where they are, ROOT hopes to plant seeds of overdose and relapse prevention, which will then take “root” and grow into a healthy lifestyle of recovery.
