Salary:$45,000-$50,000 Commensurate with Experience, Plus Excellent Benefits
The Accountant I will report to the Director of Accounting. Must be able to work under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and professional judgment. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college with a major course work in accounting, finance or other business-related area is required. Two to four years’ experience in accounting is preferred. Skilled in the use of computers, Microsoft Word and specialized software. Banner software knowledge a plus. Knowledge of State laws governing the handling of State property is preferred. Knowledge of generally accepting accounting principles and governmental accounting principles.
Position is security sensitive and subject to Texas education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
