  • Colorado River BOCES has an opening for a full-time Special Education Teacher in our Rebound SIED Classroom at Yampah Mountain High School in Glenwood Springs, CO. Candidates must have or be eligible for a CO Teacher License with a Sped Endorsement. The Rebound Advisor/Teacher provides both direct instruction and case management to guide each student in their individualized educational plan. The Advisor works with a school social worker and behavioral aide paraprofessional toward the dual responsibility of supporting the students’ academic and affective achievement. Strong candidates should have experience and a passion for differentiated instruction, youth services, and experiential and project- based learning.

    The Colorado River BOCES has a full time Speech Language Pathologist position open. The school SLP is responsible for providing direct support and interventions to students, consulting with teachers, families, and other school-employed professionals to improve support strategies. They help students meet the performance standards by assuming a range of responsibilities: 1) working in partnership with others to meet students’ needs, 2) providing direction in defining students’ roles and responsibilities, and 3) ensuring appropriate services are being provided.     Description:

    The Colorado River BOCES (CRBOCES) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated CTE (Career Technical Education) Pathways Paraprofessional (or teachers aids) to support the development, implementation, and coordination of the CRBOCES’ CTE “EPIC” (Educational Pathways to Innovative Careers) programs. The Pathways Paraprofessional will work closely with our CTE Program Instructor to help aid in the construction and development of our Tiny Homes Project. The Pathways Paraprofessional will also provide direct instructional and related services to students as delegated by the supervising CTE Program Instructor.

  • Time expectations:

    This role is a full-time (est. 40 hours/week) school-based construction instructor role. Time will be spent mostly on school campuses working with students, teachers, industry partners, CRBOCES staff, and school staff. Some time might be used to manage logistics of this work, getting supplies, materials, and curriculum development.

    Description:

    The EPIC Construction Instructor-Coach will be responsible for providing safe instructional learning environments for students mostly outside of the classroom and on the school grounds. This position will support current construction instructors, students and their projects while simultaneously preparing to lead additional EPIC Construction Pathways featuring tiny homes this fall.

    Collaboration between the school's staff, EPIC staff, and Industry Partners is required to provide consistent and clear communication of expectations for student outcomes. Students will learn construction skills while engaging in building projects (Examples: tiny homes and sheds). Industry partners will participate in some of the instructional opportunities to provide students with current practices in the sub contractor fields. Some of these partnerships will lead to work based learning opportunities for students.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provides leadership and instruction in the development, implementation and coordination of the EPIC Construction Pathways Programs.

    • Supports construction instructors and students with tiny home building projects.

    • Works within the budget to provide construction pathways.

    • Communicates with the CRBOCES CTE Director and Pathways Coordinator on a regular basis.

    • Maintains a valid Colorado driver's license and ability to drive work trucks with trailers.

    • Can lift up to 50lbs.

    • Can safely operate power tools such as chop saws, table saws, drills, etc…

    • Studies, evaluates, and, as appropriate, recommends to the EPIC staff and schools the adoption of new instructional materials, methods, and programs within related industry fields.

    • Provides assistance as requested in district and grant reporting on CTE student outcomes.

    • Supports industry relationships to facilitate placement of students into internships, job shadows and mentorships.

    • Accountability for program expenditures, supplies, and equipment.

    • Student and staff safety in program.

    • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Holds, or works towards a Career technical Education (CTE) license

    • Knowledge of CTE and Common Core standards

    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and support a school-based and EPIC teams

    • Must be able to problem solve with a creative, entrepreneurial approach

    • Must possess strong program leadership capabilities, and excellent personnel, and budget management skills

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree(s) and/or experience combined with certifications related to the construction industry field

    • Experience (5 years, or more) in the field of construction

    • Familiarity with public education funding streams, including the federal Carl D. Perkins

    • Familiarity with analysis of student success metrics and development of improvement strategies (using data to drive instruction)

    • Background in project management and supervision of construction crews

    Full-Time (40 hrs/week) SALARY/SALARY RANGE:

    • $55,000-65,000 Plus Benefits

    Job Title: Career & Technical Education (CTE) “EPIC” Pathways Coach Supporting Re1 and Re2 School Districts

    The Colorado River BOCES is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated CTE Pathways Coach to lead and support the development, implementation, and coordination of the CRBOCES’ Career Technical Education (CTE) “EPIC” programs. The Pathways Coach will work closely with the CRBOCES EPIC Director and will be responsible for establishing a strong CTE student and staff culture, providing leadership for all programmatic and curricular decisions regarding CTE programs, and serving as an industry liaison for related industry fields. The position is funded annually based upon the Garfield County Commissioners’ Budget approval. Preference is given to candidates eligible to obtain a CO Teacher’s License with a CTE endorsement or a Master’s degree in Education.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaboration with partnering school districts and their CTE “point people” to enhance and improve CTE opportunities for students and teachers.

    • Supporting Perkins and CTA reporting

    • Provides leadership in the development, implementation and coordination of the school’s and CRBOCES CTE Pathways Programs.

    • Responsible for establishing a strong CTE student and staff culture.

    • Provides instructional coaching for students in the CTE program.

    • Supports work-based learning on a day-to-day basis.

    • Supports professional development of school staff.

    The CTE Pathways Coach will also create and expand current and new internships and work-based learning opportunities, lead and support students with the communication and connections required to successfully provide work-based learning opportunities, identify and modify current work-based learning policies between the schools, their districts, and CRBOCES, and identify and clarify high school credits associated with work-based learning, including crosswalks between core subjects and CTE pathways.

    The successful candidate will have experience in high school teaching, CTE, and work-based learning. Additionally, the CTE Pathways Coach must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build student awareness and engagement with EPIC pathways, support staff and parent awareness of these opportunities for their students.
