Job Title: Weekend Millwright Lead

Location: Banks, Oregon

 

HAMPTON LUMBER MILLS, INC.

Pay Scale: $24.10 – $30.12

Shifts: Varies – Weekdays/Weekends

We are currently looking to fill a newly created position of Millwright at our Banks, Oregon location. The Millwright will be responsible for the maintenance of the mill machine center assigned too, and ensuring a safe working environment.                                  

Requirements:

  • Maintenance Millwright Journeyman certification preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy industry experience
  • Assist Supervisor and Management Team by ensuring that company Safety policies/programs/guidelines/standards are supported and adhered to.
  • AssistTeam in creating and sustaining a culture that is Safety conscious. A culture that respects Safety as a “value.”  A culture that breeds safe behavior and watching out for others.
  • Housekeeping “Keeping a clean department reduces risk for injury”. (I.e. elimination of trip hazards) Housekeeping is a high priority and is believed to influence/impact employee “moral & pride” which in turn affects safety.
  • Proficient in ability to weld, cut, troubleshoot equipment and systems, maintain all working components, operate machinery, understand pneumatic and hydraulic systems, proficient use of all tools related to the trade and good communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintenance Millwright Journeyman certification preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of lumber manufacturing equipment and the related power, control and optimization systems.
  • Experience with safety systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with MS office – word, excel and outlook.
  • Strong work ethic, sense of commitment, team-oriented, customer focused and willingness to embrace change while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Have a willingness and drive for continuous education for professional improvement. Ability to quickly learn and apply the latest technologies.
  • Must maintain a current Hampton PIT authorization as well as a current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects to meet production schedule/project requirements.
  • Superior organizational and communication skills plus the ability to initiate and handle multiple projects and deadlines and the ability to work with multiple internal customers and team members from varied levels and functional backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate opportunities and provide practical solutions given the business environment.
  • Drive processes for improving plant equipment reliability and solving maintenance-related problems.
  • Oversee machine center performance.
  • Operate all facility equipment to the degree needed for troubleshooting and testing.
  • Develop, plan, and implement work projects.
  • Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards.
  • Setting and maintaining all safety standards for maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure that all jobs are completed in a safe and timely manner, and that all environmental guidelines are followed.
  • Help ensure that programs/systems/routines/activities exist, are planned, scheduled, assigned and performed to support achievement of production goals. (Maximizing production through “Uptime”)
  • Utilization of “Non” Production Time – Plan for these windows of opportunity, seize the opportunities between shifts, at lunch breaks and weekends.
  • Work to maximize the potential of all machine centers for optimum effectiveness.
