Job Summary: The Pressure Injury Prevention Associate will track and trend hospital acquired pressure injuries in all inpatient units and will work with Nurse Managers/Directors and the Nursing Quality Leadership team to develop innovative evidence based practices while educating frontline staff on the prevention and management of HAPI's.  This role will be responsible for interpreting data in the SI system, learning quality data and developing plans for under performing units, and recognition for over performing units. This individual will be responsible for rounding on nursing units where pressure injuries are identified and educating frontline staff on best practices. 
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN required. Bachelors degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years (post RN licensure) clinical experience providing direct patient care required.  Advanced knowledge in prevention and management of pressure injuries and informal teaching required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment. Successful completion of a national Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Board certification within one year of hire (certification must be through a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies). Outstanding oral, written communication and presentation skills is a must. 
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Formal teaching at the bedside preferred. Completion of the Wound Treatment Associate Program strongly preferred.
