ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE

The Kansas Board of Regents invites applicants to fill the position of Administrative Associate. The nine-member Kansas Board of Regents is the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the state’s 32 public higher education institutions (six state universities, one municipal university, nineteen community colleges, and six technical colleges).

The Administrative Associate serves as a member of the Kansas Board of Regents Administrative Support Team and provides administrative support to the Board Office. This position will manage communications for assigned departments and staff, assist agency staff with securing travel arrangements, schedule and coordinate in-person and virtual meetings, and prepare meeting agendas, materials and minutes. In addition, the Administrative Associate will participate as part of the KBOR front desk team by greeting agency visitors, monitoring the front door to screen visitor entry, and coordinating incoming agency telephone calls and mail. The Administrative Associate will also provide hospitality services for and assist with set-up of monthly Board of Regents meetings and complete additional specialized tasks as assigned.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess three years of relevant office experience in a similar position. The successful candidate must be detail oriented, possess exceptionally well-developed oral and written communication and analytical skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities. High-level organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in order to meet deadlines is essential.

Salary range is $40,000 to $46,000 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a hybrid position; in person work at the Topeka office will be required.
