Assists the Occupational Therapist in administering the Occupational Therapy program to facilitate the rehabilitation of people with physical and or psychosocial disabilities. The Occupational Therapist Assistant works with the patients administering selected activities, treatments to restore, re enforce and correct pathology to promote and or maintain good health. Essential duties include, Performs effective treatment techniques in a competent manner. Educates patient, family, caregiver in applicable treatment and prevention. Participates in the discharge planning process. Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc. Requires treatment skills necessary to provide Occupational Therapy appropriate to the developmental and chronological age of patients on caseload. Objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. Must be physically, cognitively and perceptually able to provide patient treatment and able to assist in physical mobility of patients and equipment.

Position Requirements:

Minimum 1 years’ experience.

Good time management skills.

Physically able to provide treatments/to assist in patient transfers and ambulation

Able to use telephone and laptop.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant Program or under State of Ohio Grandfather clause.

License Requirements:

Current license by the State of Ohio to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant 

Previous acute experience preferred. 

Ability to float to other east side locations preferred. 

Ability to work weekends and cover weekday call offs prefered.
