Treasurer/Collector of Taxes

The Town of Truro is currently seeking applicants for Office Assistant III:  Treasurer/Collector of Taxes.  Applications must be submitted by December 10, 2021, at 4PM at Truro Town Hall.  Salary range, job description, and application are available at www.truro-ma.gov/home/pages/jobs .

Treasurer will greet the public, provide information and perform administrative tasks, clerical and record keeping work to assist the Treasurer/Collector department and provide customer service assistance on behalf of the Town Clerk as needed.

Work week is thirty-five (35) hours per week, full-time position.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Possession of a high school diploma, or equivalent; a minimum of two years' successful office or banking experience in the areas of secretarial and computer responsibilities, accounting, bookkeeping, filing and word processing. College degree at the associate's or bachelor's level in the areas of accounting, business management, computer science, or related field preferred.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of office procedures, practices and terminology. Complete knowledge of the use of office and data processing equipment. Basic knowledge of bookkeeping techniques. General knowledge of local government and its operations helpful. General knowledge of the applicable provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws pertinent to the Town Clerk/Treasurer/Collector of Taxes functions also helpful.
