DOT Driver Trainer

This position requires a 10 year prior CDL driving experience, with a clean driving record.The applicant must possess a valid Class A CDL with the endorsements: doubles, tankers, and hazmat along with a valid DOT medical certificate. Must have the ability to teach in a classroom environment and on a personal level. Must be able to determine when a person is qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle safely. Must have knowledge of the Federal Motor CarrierRegulations and State Local laws.This position may also require working overtime and sometimes weekends or holidays. Occasional travel is also required.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Train and evaluate all prospective drivers and monitors.

Maintain all DOT folders and records on current drivers.

Work with Transportation Director hiring new Employees.

Conduct driving performance evaluations on drivers and delegated behind-the-wheel trainers and drivers and maintain driving performance records.

Post-accident behind-the-wheel re-training.

Maintain updated driver training manuals and material related to passenger transportation.

Network with local instructor groups to exchange information related to passenger transportation safety and training.

Design and implement safety meetings under direction of Transportation Director.
