Job Summary
This position may be responsible for all aspects of program instruction, health screening and education including research and development of program materials, class preparation, teaching and set-up, curriculum development and counseling participants, follow-up with class participants, screening preparation and set-up, implementation, teaching, answering questions, collecting evaluations, completing appropriate paperwork, and follow-up with screening participants as appropriate. May also assist at health events and educate on a variety of health topics. This position requires the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of the age of the patient population for whom services are provided.
The position will teach children the CATCH program. The CATCH Program stands for Coordinated Approach to Child Health, and is endorsed by the CDC. It is for students grades K-5. This position will become an expert in the content and go to local schools to deliver the education. It usually entails about 30 minutes in the classrooms, once per month. Current schools in the program are in Zeeland, Holland, and Hudsonville.
