Hillsboro Tribune is looking a full-time general assignment reporter.

The Hillsboro Tribune is a weekly newspaper covering Oregon’s fifth-largest city. The position is based in Forest Grove, where you will work in partnership with the staff of the Forest Grove News-Times and our other Washington County publications. You will be the primary reporter for our weekly print and daily digital and social media products, and collaborate on some annual special sections. Beat includes news and feature angles on city government, law enforcement and business/high tech.

 The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and at least two years of professional reporting experience. You will demonstrate excellent time management skills and an ability to write engaging, accurate stories on deadline. Although you will work with a professional photographer, you must be able to shoot photos for your own stories when needed. You will use social media to share your work and engage our audience, work well on deadlines, and demonstrate an ability to manage a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends.
