Coordinator Patient Safety TeamSTEPPS - Center for Quality

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8-4:40

Summary: 

Performs as a key proponent in the establishment and maintenance of patient safety programs and serves as the Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS). Organizes staff activities across the inpatient System to ensure compliance with all aspects of TeamSTEPPS and high functioning teams as they relate to improving safe, patient care. Serves as technical expert and functional project manager for implementation and sustainment of TeamSTEPPS initiatives, identified through adverse event reporting and data analysis related to patient safety. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

 


Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in clinically related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Experience in healthcare, patient safety or quality improvement.
Demonstrated skills and experience in project management.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:
Master’s Degree in clinically related field of study or education.
5 years’ experience in healthcare with knowledge of practices relating to patient care.
3 years’ experience in Patient Safety or Quality Improvement.
Master Trainer.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
