Job Description:

Elms College is a small, Catholic college that educates a diverse group of students in a supportive and vibrant learning community. The sociology program at Elms College is looking for adjunct instructors for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 to teach two sections of Introduction to Sociology (SOC 1001) in our traditional, 15-week undergraduate program.

Format:

The two sections of the course are scheduled to meet face-to-face on the Chicopee campus on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:25am — 10:40am and 10:50am — 12:05pm. Elms College uses Moodle I-MS, Google Workspace, and Zoom for remote learning/advising.

Duties/responsibilities:

Instructors will be responsible for:

• Preparing course plans and materials e Delivering courses
• Monitoring progress/attendance
• Recording midterm and final grades and submitting assessment reports as requested

Application Requirements:

Applicants who have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree in the area of expertise (or ABD) are preferred. Candidates with Master's degrees will be considered with 3-5 years relevant experience. We strongly encourage those from underrepresented groups to apply.
