Job Description
Observation 5 West is a smaller unit comprised of 25 beds at Butterworth Hospital supporting our Emergency Department and Level 1 Trauma Center.
This brings a lot of variety to the patients you will care for and provides the ability to strengthen your critical thinking skills and be part of a dynamic team providing excellent patient care to those needing to further testing and observation of symptoms related to:
chest pain, heart failure, kidney stones, psychiatric diagnosis, GI, orthopedic, and neuro for both acute and chronic illness patients.
Job SummaryDelivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
