Job Description:
Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper
Part-time, approx. 20 hours per week
Offering flexible scheduling
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts payable -- pay bills and reconcile accounts, pay sales tax to Nevada Department of Taxation
Accounts receivable -- post payments to customer accounts and work on collections as needed, file mechanic’s liens, pursue collections through Small Claims Court (rarely)
Weekly payroll (often using prevailing wages) -- print paychecks, pay taxes, complete payroll reports and send to general contractors, generate forms W2 and W3
Quarterly and yearly tax reporting -- form 941, state and federal unemployment taxes, modified business tax, Form 2290 Heavy Use Tax, Form 1099, Form 1096, commerce tax
Audits -- work with auditors from multiple insurance companies to perform yearly audits
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Must work onsite
Understanding of bookkeeping procedures required
Proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet programs required
QuickBooks experience highly preferred
At least one year office admin and/or bookkeeping preferred
Will train with current bookkeeper this summer and then take over the position
