Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for experienced Crane Operators.  Crane Operator will be required to mobilize and operate cranes safely and efficiently throughout a wide range of industries to include, but not limited to:  Industrial Construction, Oil and Gas, Coal, Aggregate, Commercial, Concrete, Power Plants, Communications, etc.  Operators must possess expertise and skill in precisely moving and placing large objects using Link Belt, National and Grove Cranes.  Crane Operators must be performance-driven and possess a proven history of customer service.   

Beitzel Corporation provides crane services 24/7 and Crane Operators must be flexible and willing to work out-of-town with overnight stay on a regular basis.  Candidates must be willing to do call-out and stand-by work, along with extended hours, weekends, and holidays.      

Areas of operations include, but are not limited to:  Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New Jersey.

• Maintain strong customer focus and communicate effectively with customers and potential customers
• Control the rigging, lifting, moving and positioning of loads on the crane
• Observe and make certain loads are safely attached and that weight loads and lifting capacities are within proper limits
• Maintain clean, safe and well-maintained cranes
• Perform routine safety inspections and continuously inspect crane cables and hooks and ensure that worn parts are replaced
• Perform lubrication and necessary field repairs  
• Drive cranes to and from job sites
• Operate within precise limits and standards of accuracy and safety
• Maintain quality and safety standards without exception
• Perform construction-related work as required

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 3-5’ years of experience in Mobile Crane Operations
• Must have NCCCO certification or equivalent operator certification with an updated physical card
• Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a calm and positive demeanor regardless of circumstances
• Must be willing to work extended hours, flexible hours, night and rotating shifts as necessary
• Must be willing to travel and work out of town on a regular basis
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to represent Beitzel Corporation in a professional, competent and courteous manner
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to effectively adapt to ever-changing and ever-emerging customer needs
• Must know and understand hand-signals and be proficient at rigging loads in a safe manner
• Must be able to safely escort and transport wide loads from one location to another
• Must be able to accurately and effectively complete job tickets; service quality summaries and all other necessary paperwork
• Must possess and maintain a strong customer focus without exception
• Possess construction-related skills such as carpentry, concrete, welding, electrical, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10 years crane operating experience
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A certification
• Heavy Equipment Operation experience
• Crane experience in the energy industry including mining, power plants and/or oil and gas well sites
• Multiple, complementary heavy construction skills or certifications; welding, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, NCCER certifications – Rigging, fork lift etc.
• Safety training including SafeLand, OSHA 10 and MSHA surface training

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
