APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT PROCEDURE ADMINISTRATION:  All provisions of this Notice Of Employment Opportunity including any and all testing and/or skills assessment procedures will be administered and monitored by The Sharonville Civil Service Commission.

 

NOTICE:  The City Of Sharonville has a current vacancy in the classification of Convention Center Custodian.  This is a full-time position. 

 

WAGES AND BENEFITS:  Wages are very competitive. The current pay range is $14.00 per hour ($29,120 per year) to $25.61 per hour ($53,269 per year).  The pay rate for new employees is commensurate upon skills, education, job knowledge, and abilities. Full-time employees will receive paid vacation time, paid sick leave, an excellent retirement system, and other generous benefits that will be discussed during the interview process. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Each applicant must (1) be at least 18 years of age as of the date of employment, and (2) have attained a high school diploma or equivalency (GED).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of skills, knowledge and abilities to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the building and grounds.
  2. Experience in the use of tools and equipment utilized in custodial processes and the ability to understand and follow directions.
  3. Available for evening and weekend shifts.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

None.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for purposes of 42 USC 12101):

  1. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the building, furnishings and surrounding grounds; including, but not limited to, cleaning floors, walls, windows, doors, railings, furniture, emptying trashcans and vacuuming.
  2. Operate necessary custodial equipment required to accomplish all custodial tasks.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and ensure all restroom supplies are full and furnished.
  4. Assist Set-up Supervisor in maintaining inventory of job related supplies.
  5. Assist with set-up and teardown of event rooms.
  6. Follow established safety procedures, report unsafe conditions to management.
  7. Periodically work under unpleasant conditions.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to the operation of the Convention Center.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Abide by the Sharonville Standards of Conduct.
  2. Regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS:  (*indicates developed after employment)

  • Knowledge of: safety practices and procedures, equipment, chemicals and other materials utilized in custodial services; custodial methods and tecniques.
  • Skill in: effective communication, developing and maintaining professional relationships; operate hand tools and motorized equipment.
  • Ability to: follow oral and written communications, perform manual labor, work independently without close supervision; lift and carry 50 pounds up and down stairs; bend lift and twist from floor to knee, floor to waist and floor to chest and floor to shoulders.

Note:   In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered to be light work.
