COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLANNER

Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NWRPC) has an opening for a

Community Development Planner. This multi-faceted position will be responsible

for providing assistance to counties and local governments meeting local recycling

and Responsible Unit requirements, assisting in coordination of the Northwest

Cleansweep program activities, and will assist other NWRPC program areas with

development of community and regional based plans.

NWRPC is a ten-county multidisciplinary planning agency located in Spooner,

Wisconsin. NWRPC is responsible for assisting local governments with economic

development, community development, housing, transportation, environmental,

and comprehensive planning.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in research techniques,

planning methodology, meeting facilitation, grant writing and report preparation,

education outreach, marketing and social media skills, and municipal/county

processes. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills,

proficiency with Word, Excel, and other Office applications, the ability to work

independently and as a team, and be able to manage multiple projects.

Preferred education includes a Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, natural

resources or closely related field. Must possess or be able to obtain a Wisconsin

driver’s license. Salary D.O.Q and includes an excellent benefits package.

Position start date is April/May 2021.
