Department Description:

This position is responsible for the quality of inpatient documentation and coding. All tasks need to be performed following the Operating Principles of Baystate Health.

Schedule:

• Full-time/40 Hours Week

• Monday through Friday-Day Shift

• Position located at Baystate Health, Whitney Ave., Holyoke and current remote work opportunities

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred

• Coding experience required. Knowledge of the 3M coding/abstracting system required

• Credentialed as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred

• Proficient knowledge of ICD-9-CM codes and DRG’s. Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to prepare reports

• Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
